Duet Evelina Petrova and Roberto Dani is a wide field for experimentation, broadening of imagination and focusing on the creation of sounding pictures. Roberto is a truly subtle musician who doesn’t fit a conventional image of a drummer. He often uses the bow instead of sticks and mallets to paint his pictures. He deeply gets into the personages of his stories. We spent hours of rehearsals to find new forms of music making and communication. We used voice, movement, theatrical and cinematography means, folklore in compositional writing. That’s how the multimedia program “Mirrors” came to life. It consists of music by Evelina Petrova, Mikhail Alperin and Russian folk songs. Films by Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky also was a great source of inspiration.

Misha Alperin joined Roberto and me later and presented this project as a Oslo Art Trio at festivals in Italy and Norway as well as made a recording at the Rainbow Studio in Oslo. We have a recording but we lost Misha. As a memory of our collaboration we recorded the album «Beyond the valley». Our special guest was a brilliant musician, all-time member of Moscow Art Trio Arkady Shilkloper. Album released on Global Records in 2020.
