Prayers and Meditations
West meets East. Classical music meets Improvisations!

Misha Alperin himself improvised on claviola, while Russian and Bulgarian folk singers participate, together with Norwegian percussionist. The premiere performance took place at Ris Church in Oslo, spring 2015. The concert was recorded and released on CD by Jaro Records.

Prayers and Meditations is a piece that crosses musical borders, without making aesthetic compromises. I feel that we are heading towards a musical whole that I like. The choir is also challenged to improvise. They are open to that, especially when they experience that they are helping to create something new – which works,” says Hakon Nystedt.
